Overview The Nurse Midwife (CNM) will work under the general supervision of their Medical Director, all physician partners, and their APP Manager, in WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent midwifery care to patients at WakeMed. This position can consist of both inpatient and outpatient care depending on the needs of the service and is outlined in the clinical job expectations. This may include completion of referrals, consults, daily patient rounds, daily notes, discharge summaries, procedures, clinic notes, pre and post procedure care, prescribing, and patient care follow-ups. The CNM will work closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to maximize the care we provide to our patients. As a healthcare professional, the CNM will function as an educator for PA/NP/CNM/DO students from healthcare education programs. Within this position the CNM will maintain the scope of practice to be consistent with the policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board, Nursing Board and any other federal or state regulatory agencies, as well as the policies and procedures of WakeMed. Additional certifications such as Advanced Life Support may be required based on clinical area of practice and will be outlined in the clinical job expectations and reviewed annually during the annual review process. The CNM understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values and management of WakeMed. Basic Life Support Required within 6 months of hire.
