Of Counsel Eminent Domain

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced attorney with 7+ years of experience in eminent domain, real estate, or public entity land acquisition litigation to join an established litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in valuation analysis, litigation strategy, court filings, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation. Experience handling complex litigation matters is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will work on a wide range of public entity-related land acquisition matters throughout California, gaining significant litigation and trial experience. This role involves managing cases through various stages of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation, while advising public entities and private-sector clients on high-stakes matters involving land acquisition and major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle eminent domain, real estate, and public entity land acquisition litigation matters.
• Conduct valuation analysis and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Prepare court filings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Manage discovery and take depositions.
• Prepare cases for trial and support litigation through various stages of the legal process.
• Handle complex litigation matters involving public entity-related land acquisition issues.
• Work on matters related to transportation, infrastructure, transit, and sports stadium developments.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the firm's litigation practice.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 7 years of legal experience, with experience in eminent domain, real estate, or public entity land acquisition litigation required.
• Experience with valuation analysis, litigation strategy, court filings, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Ability to take depositions and independently manage discovery.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience handling complex litigation is strongly preferred.
• Ability to prepare and present cases effectively throughout the litigation process.
