This position is an entry level role at Jet Financial Corporation. Your primary responsibility is

\n

to provide efficient client services and perform underwriting for all new inquiries and policy

\n

renewals. As an underwriter, you will assess and evaluate risks associated with bond

\n

applicants and determine price and terms for issuing bonds.

\n

\n

We pay salary plus bonus. Jet compensates those who create value. The more value

\n

added, the more compensation Jet will pay. Below are the following responsibilities of the

\n

position:

\n

\n

• Application Processing: Receive and underwrite new business applications from

\n

clients via phone, website submission, or mail. Ensure all necessary information is

\n

provided and accurately recorded in the system.

\n

• Underwriting analysis and quoting: Review and analyze all incoming bond

\n

applications submitted to determine eligibility, based on current Underwriting

\n

guidelines. Evaluate the financial strength, creditworthiness, and overall risk profile

\n

of applicants.

\n

• Customer Inquiries: Respond to inquiries from customers regarding the

\n

underwriting determinations, premiums, and other related business questions.

\n

Provide clear and accurate information to assist customers in making informed

\n

decisions.

\n

• Communication: Collaborate with other business units, including other

\n

underwriters from different business units, to gather additional information, clarify

\n

application details, and discuss risk assessments. Communicate underwriting

\n

decisions and provide explanations to Business Unit Leaders when necessary.

\n

• Market Research: Capitalize on additional marketing opportunities and industry

\n

insight through customer relationships and consistent review of competitor pricing.

\n

• Claims Intake: Receive and review new surety claims, utilizing written claims SOPs.

\n

Gather essential information such as bond details, loss descriptions, and any

\n

supporting documents.

\n

• Maintain accurate business records and documentation of underwriting decisions,

\n

including supporting analysis and rationale for out of the box approvals or

\n

rejections. Ensure that all necessary paperwork and files are properly organized and

\n

maintained.

\n

The task descriptions provide a general overview of the key responsibilities involved in the

\n

role, however flexibility for additional tasks is necessary for success in the role.

\n

\n

Training will be done under both of Jet Financial Corps divisions (BondExchange and Jet

\n

Insurance Services) for several months to provide proper breadth of industry knowledge.

\n

From there entry level position employees are expected to move into an industry focused

\n

business unit or wholesale targeted region.

\n

\n

Job Qualifications:

\n

\n

• Education: A bachelor's degree is a plus but not required.

\n

• Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications. Need ability to

\n

quickly learn the proprietary software used in our underwriting process.

\n

• Communication Skills: Underwriters need to effectively communicate their

\n

decisions and recommendations to clients via phone, email, and mail. Strong verbal

\n

and written communication skills are necessary to convey complex information

\n

clearly and professionally.

\n

• Attention to detail: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial to

\n

identify potential risks and make rapid informed decisions.

\n

• Adaptability and willingness to learn: The entry level underwriter position exists as

\n

stepping stone to future leadership, so an openness to acquire new skills and a

\n

willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and responsibilities is essential.
